Its flat-pack design ensures more economical delivery, reducing shipping costs significantly. Each unit comes with comprehensive step-by-step assembly instructions, making the process straightforward and manageable for anyone, even without advanced DIY skills.
Once the mobile storage racks are assembled they can be easily pushed throughout healthcare facilities, as they are equipped with casters.
Yes, all Safeloox mobile lead apron racks include a top hanger bar specifically designed for storing thyroid collars, making it easy to keep aprons and collars together for quick access.
The upper rack hanger, where tops and aprons are hung, is positioned at a height of 130cm from the ground.
This is for the following mobile lead apron racks:
- Mobile Lead Apron Rack for 5 Vest & Skirt: Holds 5 lead gowns.
- Mobile Lead Apron Rack for 5 One-Piece Aprons: Holds 5 one-piece aprons.
- Mobile Lead Apron Rack for 10 Vest & Skirt: Holds 10 x-ray garments.
- Mobile Lead Apron Rack for 10 One-Piece Aprons: Holds 10 lead aprons
- H-Rack for 10 Lead Aprons: Holds 10 garments.
The H-Rack is the most economical mobile lead apron rack for hanging all lead apron types, vests & skirts, wraparound and front lead aprons. It features a unique H-shaped design. The H-Rack requires additional apron hangers for each apron to hang. Usually, they are supplied when buying the H-Rack.
Sometimes, this type of Lead Apron Rack can become cluttered as lead garments may slip off the single hanger. Additionally, it does not account for the preferred order of putting on and taking off lead aprons (skirt first, then top, or top first, skirt second).
However, the detachable single hanger allows for easy removal from the H-Rack, enabling users to bring it directly to where aprons are needed, enhancing convenience and accessibility.
Lead Glasses for Radiation Protection
Yes, you can add an anti-reflective or anti-fog coating when ordering your lead glasses.
For prescription lead glasses, only the anti-reflective coating can be added directly. If you need an additional anti-fog protection for your prescription lead glasses, anti-fog sprays are also available to help keep your lenses clear.
Lead glasses, or radiation glasses, protect your eyes from the harmful effects of X-Rays and scatter radiation. Since our eyes are one of the most radiation-sensitive areas on our bodies, they must be protected whenever you’re operating or around machines such as Radiographs, Fluoroscopes, X-rays, Irradiators, Electronic Microscopes, and Particle Accelerators. Read more about lead glasses in our blog.
Everyone who works around X-Rays and Scatter Radiation that is released during radiological examinations and interventional procedures such as Angiography, Fluoroscopy, Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP), Radiology, Urology, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Orthopaedics, Pain Management, Neurology, Trauma and Vascular Surgery.
Safeloox' lead glasses range meets and exceeds the Australian Radiation Standard AS/ NZS 4543.3. All lead glasses have been tested and certified against a full range of x-ray energies: 50-150kVp specified in the International Radiation Standard IEC 61331.3-2014.
The majority of lead glasses have 0.75mm Pb lenses and 0.50mm Pb leaded side shields for additional lateral protection.
One of the increased health dangers is a cataract, which usually results from long-term exposure to low-dose radiation and can even lead to blindness.
According to the study “Historical review of occupational exposures and cancer risks in medical radiation workers”, 50% of interventional cardiologists develop cataracts. The risk of cataracts rises as exposure rises, e.g. during interventional radiology procedures such as Angiography and Fluoroscopy.
Yes, they can be, especially bifocal and progressive lead glasses, as the lenses are laminated and thicker. The higher your prescription is, the heavier the leaded lenses will be. As every script is unique, we can only provide an estimated additional weight range, usually between 10 to 20 grams. For instance, a pair of non-prescription lead glasses (leaded lenses and frame) weighs 65grams; the final approximate weight of your prescription lead glasses (prescription leaded lenses and frame) will weigh approximately 75 to 85grams.
That's why Safeloox offers customers a free and contactless service of trialling lead glasses from the comfort of their own homes or workplace to ensure they make the right choice.
We recommend going through the following steps to correctly select your prescription lead glasses that best suit you:
- Understand your script
- Determine your required prescription (vision) type
- Research lead glasses frames that suit your prescription (check prescription limits, weight, frame size and shape, and glasses add-ons)
- Trial your choice of lead glasses to experience fit and weight
- Double-check that your script includes all details required for your prescription order: PD (Pupillary Distance), sphere, cylinder (only if a correction of astigmatism is needed), axis (only if the cylinder is listed)
- Submit your order attaching your script (provided by an optometrist). You can send the order by email to support@safeloox.com.au or go directly to the product pages in the collection of prescription lead glasses.

Read about the recommended cleaning instructions for Lead Glasses.
Always store your lead glasses in your hard protective case when not using them, as the leaded lenses are fragile.
- Do not leave your lead glasses in a hot area. The heat can warp the frame.
- Do not set your lead glasses close to the sinks and vanities. They can get splashed with corrosive substances in these areas.
- Avoid putting your lead glasses on top of your head. The top of the head is generally wider than the face and can widen the frame.
- Don’t push on the nosepiece. The motion can distort the nose piece; try to adjust it before placing it on your face.
- Use both hands to remove your lead glasses. The motion will keep your frame’s alignment and minimise changes over time.
- If you need to remove your lead glasses constantly, use an eyewear strap attached securely to the temple arms of the leaded frame.
- Eyewear lanyards are not recommended as they do not hold the lead glasses.

We highly recommend wearing your lead glasses with a strap to keep them securely on your face. The adjustable eyewear strap helps balance the weight when wearing lead glasses during medical imaging procedures and provides a more comfortable fit. Safeloox provides an adjustable eyewear strap with every lead glasses order.
You can add 25 symbols (letters, characters, and numbers, including spaces) on the safety glasses' inner or outer temple arms.
It is possible to engrave letters, characters, and numbers, including spaces. Maximum of 25 characters.

This is an individual decision. However, adding an anti-reflective coating to your leaded lenses will increase your comfort. As light enters a lens, roughly 85% passes through while the remaining light is reflected off the surface as glare. Glare can be distracting, especially in a healthcare environment where lighting is intense. Anti-reflective coating reduces the glare and lets more light through. Therefore, it improves your vision by approximately 10%.

Anti-fog leaded lenses help keeping a permanent clear vision as moisture can built-up when wearing a face mask. Main causes for fogging in a medical environment are body heat and wearing face coverings. A face mask tends to cause our warm breath to go up into the area of our eyes, resulting in fogging lenses. Anti-fog coating can reduce the fogging of your lenses and you won't have to take off your leaded glasses which increases your safety.
